Find Your Class Teams
This article will guide you through how to find your Class Teams
Microsoft Teams is where you’ll join online sessions, chat with your tutor, and access your class resources. You don’t need to install the desktop app to get started — you can use Teams directly in your browser.
Step 1: Open Microsoft Teams in Your Browser
- Open your internet browser (we recommend Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge).
- In the address bar, type: teams.microsoft.com
- Press Enter.
- If you’re not already signed in, you’ll be asked to log in with your Microsoft 365 apprenticeship account (see your login guide if needed).
Step 2: Choose to Stay in the Browser
- You may see a message suggesting you download the Teams desktop app.
- For now, click Use the web app instead so you can open Teams in your browser.
Step 3: Locate Your Class Teams
- Once logged in, you’ll arrive on the Teams homepage.
- Down the left-hand menu, click on the Teams icon (two people in a square).
- Here you’ll see all the Teams you’ve been added to by Skills Edge Training.
- Each square (or tile) represents a different Team.
- Your class Team will usually be named after your apprenticeship or group (e.g. Level 3 Insurance Practitioner). Where applicable you will also be added to a class Team for any exam units you're studying (e.g. IF1 Insurance Legal and Regulatory)
- Click on the Team tile to open it.
Step 4: Explore Your Class Team
Inside your class Team you’ll find:
- Posts tab – for tutor announcements and class discussions.
- Files tab – for shared documents, resources and learning materials.
- ClassNotebook tab - for making notes and supporting seminars.
Step 5: Pin Your Class Team for Easy Access
- Hover over your class Team tile.
- Click the three dots (•••) in the corner.
- Select Pin – this keeps your class Team at the top of your Teams list.
Troubleshooting Tips
- Can’t see your class Team? Log out and back in or refresh the page. If it’s still missing, contact us so we can check you’ve been added.
- Teams not loading properly? Clear your browser cache, try a different browser or try an InPrivate / Incognito window.
- Multiple accounts? Make sure you’re signed in with your apprenticeship account, not your personal or work account.
✅ You’re now ready to use Microsoft Teams in your browser and connect with your class!
