Mock Exams
This article will provide guidance on mock exams with Skills Edge
Mock exams give you the opportunity to test your knowledge, familiarise yourself with the format and structure of the exam, build your confidence and assess your current exam readiness.
You will be invited to attend a mock exam for each exam unit you take as part of your apprenticeship
When do mock exams happen?
- Approximately 1 week before your final exam workshop, and 2 weeks before your actual exam
- You will find the date of your mock exam on your Aptem learning plan
- The invitation to the mock exam will be sent to your Skills Edge Student email at the start of the cohort
How to prepare for your mock exam
- Accept the invitation and attend as with other workshops
- Study the course text, focusing on high-mark chapters and learning outcomes
- Be ready to complete the exam under invigilated exam conditions
On the Day of the Mock Exam
- Log in at least 5 minutes before the scheduled start time using your Skills Edge student account. You will not be able to participate in the mock exam if you are not logged in on your Skills Edge student account
- Ensure a stable internet connection and please have your camera on
- Be in a quiet, undisturbed location
- No communication with others during the exam
- No cheating or use of additional materials
- A basic calculator is allowed if permitted by the exam
If you can’t attend
- Please decline the invitation
- You will be emailed a link to the mock exam shortly after it has taken place and should complete this (un-invigilated) as soon as possible
After the mock exam
- You’ll receive your results and feedback
- Your Trainer will review your performance and assess your exam readiness
- If needed, they’ll offer additional support before the real exam
We look forward to supporting your success!
