What should I do if I haven’t received my study materials?

This articles explains the process for unit enrolments with the CII, what you should do if you haven’t received your study materials, and how you can order a physical copy of your study materials.

 

If you're an apprentice and wondering where your study materials are, please be assured that there is a clear process and timeline in place for the delivery of materials.

When Will I Receive My Study Materials?

Please note the following timescales:

  • You will not receive your study materials before the start of your apprenticeship.
  • Enrolment on your first unit is ordered once you have started your apprenticeship.
  • For subsequent units these are ordered once you have submitted you’re the Exam Update Form confirming full achievement of the previous unit. If this is longer than 4 weeks before your next unit cohort start date then they will be ordered 4 weeks before - This ensures that all resources are up to date and aligned with your learning schedule.
  • Your materials will be attached to your CII account in a digital version.

 

How do I obtain the physical copy of my course book?

    • If you have learning difficulty or physical disability that you require the physical copy of the study materials to support your apprenticeship this may be paid for by SET.
    • As an apprentice you must not pay to purchased the book yourself however your employer may purchase this for you. As we have already purchased your digital study materials this will be at reduced rate through CII. Your employer can order a physical copy as follows -
      • If your employer wishes to use their corporate CII account (A corporate account is an account held at CII in the name of the business not an individual):
      • Forward the original unit enrolment order email from Skills Edge training to corporateorders@cii.co.uk. This is so you are identified as a Skills Edge learner and prevent your employer being charged non-discounted price. The business will then be invoiced accordingly.

     

    • If your employer does not yet have a corporate account and would like one, or you are unsure if you have a corporate account, please contact b2bsupport@cii.co.uk
    • Once this is confirmed or has been created, please follow the steps as if you have a corporate account.

     

    • If your employer does not want to create a corporate account.
    • Your employer or you will need to contact support@skillsedge.co.uk with the title of ‘Physical book upgrade’. We will then contact the CII and arrange a call back for the order to be purchased by card.
    • Please include the best number to contact the employer (cardholder) and a specific time to call, either morning or afternoon. A member of the CII customer service team will call and take the order and payment over the phone.

What Should I Do If I Haven’t Received Them Yet?

If your cohort start date is approaching and you still haven’t received your materials, please take the following steps:

  1. Complete the Exam Update Form

    You can also email: Support@skillsedge.co.uk. Please include your full name and apprenticeship programme
